Tythorne Garden Design was created by Ian McBain (who was clearly always destined for a life in the garden as the picture above shows) with the sole aim of helping people to enjoy their gardens more. Designing fabulous gardens since 2004, Ian lives with his young family in a small village near Grantham in Lincolnshire and has built a deserved reputation for beautiful and practical garden design.

Ian’s design credentials are exemplary, having studied at the Royal College of Art and subsequently lectured in design at various UK universities. Alongside his academic work, however, Ian also gained essential practical experience. Spells as a gardener for the Bishop of Southwell (Nottinghamshire) and as a landscaper with a well-regarded local company helped to ensure that he became a highly qualified and experienced garden designer.
